The detail

Arabis caucasica, commonly known as White Rockcress, is a charming low-growing alpine perennial prized for its abundant clusters of small, pure white flowers that appear in spring. This mat-forming plant produces a dense carpet of soft, grey-green evergreen foliage, making it an excellent choice for ground cover, rockeries, dry stone walls, and border edging throughout the year.

Once established, Arabis is a wonderfully low-maintenance plant that thrives in well-drained soils and sunny positions. It is perfectly suited to rock gardens, alpine troughs, raised beds, gravel gardens, and the front of borders where it can gently cascade over edges. Its spreading habit helps suppress weeds while providing a stunning floral display each spring that attracts bees and other pollinators to the garden.
