Knowledge

Frequently asked

How long will an indoor herb plant last?

Annual herbs (basil, coriander) for one growing season; perennial herbs (mint, rosemary, chives) for years if cared for. Repot annually into fresh compost.

Why is my basil dying?

Almost always not enough light, or supermarket basil being grown as a one-shot crop. Our basil is field-grown for longevity. South-facing windowsill is ideal.

Can I move kitchen herbs outside in summer?

Yes — most kitchen herbs benefit from a summer outside. Harden them off over a week, place in a sunny spot, bring back indoors before first frost.
