THE STORY
Why Season 28 exists.
Season 28 started with a simple idea: gardening should be one of life's small pleasures — not one of its quiet anxieties.
James has spent 10 years around plants, first as someone who loved them, then as someone who learned how they actually thrive in real homes and real gardens. Along the way they kept hearing the same thing from friends, neighbours and customers: "I love plants, I'm just not good with them." That sentence, repeated by people at every level of experience, became the brief.
So we built Season 28 to be the friend who knows plants. Mature, considered specimens grown to settle in quickly. A free care app that learns your specific space and sends the right nudge at the right moment. And a community of beginners, experienced growers and everyone between, sharing what actually works.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Plants don't have to be hard.
Gardening should feel like a small daily pleasure for the first-time grower and the fiftieth-garden enthusiast alike. The plants you'll keep aren't the ones that need the most attention; they're the ones that found the right home with the right amount of help. Season 28 chooses the plants, shares what we know, and connects you with a community learning alongside you so the garden you've always wanted is one you can actually have.
WHAT SEASON 28 DOES
The three things we do
Plants, grown well.
A curated nursery of indoor and outdoor plants, mature enough to look established the day they arrive. Grown peat-free at our Yorkshire nursery, shipped plastic-free, ready for real homes.
An app that helps you thrive
Free with every order. Scan your garden or windowsill, identify any plant you spot in the wild, visualise what you'd love next, and get care reminders tuned to your plants, your routine and your seasons. Practical help, in your pocket.
A community that shares
Pottering Sundays, plant doctor sessions, a knowledge library written for real homes, and a hashtag full of customers showing what's working in theirs. Everyone teaches; everyone learns. Including us.
WHERE WE GROW
East Yorkshire
We are supplied by a family owned nursery in Yorkshire, who use peat-free compost, sourced from UK suppliers. Every plant is hand-checked before it ships. Every order leaves in plastic-free, giftable packaging.
We work with a small set of European growers for the plants not grown on the nursery. Olives and Citrus trees from Sicily, Bay trees from Spain, Acers from New Zealand.
We partner with growers who care about their plants the way we do. Every plant we sell, we'd happily grow in our own gardens. That's the only filter we need.
