The detail
Mentha × piperita (Peppermint) forms dense mats of glossy, serrated green leaves on purplish stems, releasing a refreshing, menthol fragrance when crushed. In mid to late summer, slender flower spikes rise above the foliage, while the leaves are harvested for use in teas, sauces, & aromatic oils. Growing to 60 cm tall × 90 cm wide, it thrives in containers, herb gardens & kitchen plots, & is valued for both culinary & medicinal use.
Each plant is supplied as a healthy, fresh & fully established 1L rootball, professionally grown in premium peat-free compost & hand-raised for strength & resilience. These large, outdoor-ready perennial plants arrive fully rooted & ready to thrive immediately, unlike smaller plugs. Naturally hardy & very easy to grow, peppermint flourishes in moist, well-drained soil & partial to full sun, requiring only regular watering to keep the roots lightly moist. Simply cut back after flowering to promote fresh, leafy growth & divide every 2–3 years to maintain vigour. It grows beautifully alongside Sage, Lavender, Thyme, Oregano & more for a culinary-ready garden collection.
