The detail
Arenaria (commonly known as sandwort) is a hardy alpine perennial that forms dense, evergreen mounds of fine, bright green foliage, topped with masses of small, star-shaped white flowers in late spring to early summer. These high-performing, low-growing plants typically reach 5–15 cm tall with a spreading habit, creating a soft, carpet-like effect that works beautifully between stones, along pathways or spilling gently over edges. Their tidy structure and subtle flowering make them ideal for adding texture, contrast and long-lasting interest in compact garden spaces.
Our Arenaria plants are professionally grown in high-quality peat-free compost and freshly delivered directly from our UK nursery in Yorkshire, in plastic-free, giftable packaging. Supplied as strong, well-established 1-litre rootballs (sets of 3 or 6 plants), they feature dense, fibrous root systems and healthy evergreen foliage, ensuring quick establishment, reliable coverage and consistent performance in a wide range of outdoor settings.
