Frequently asked
When should I plant a hedge?
Autumn is ideal — warm soil, reliable rain, time to root before spring growth. Container-grown hedging like ours can also go in during spring or summer with regular watering.
How far apart should I plant hedging?
Varies by species. Fast-growing options like laurel or privet typically want 45–60cm spacing (around 2 per metre). Slower hedging like beech or yew goes in tighter at 30–45cm. Each product page lists the recommended spacing.
How tall will my hedge grow?
Most hedging plants can be kept at any height with regular trimming — the variety dictates the maximum potential. Each product page lists the ultimate height if left untrimmed.
