Knowledge
Frequently asked
Will perennials come back every year?
Yes — hardy herbaceous perennials die back to ground level over winter and re-emerge from the same root in spring, growing fuller each season. Most reach mature size in 2–3 years and thrive for 5–10 years with basic care.
When should I plant perennials?
Autumn and spring are ideal — soil is workable, rainfall is reliable, and the plant has time to root before the next growing season. Container-grown perennials like ours can also go in during summer with extra watering for the first few weeks.
Do perennials need a lot of looking after?
Less than most people think. The basics — water during the first few weeks, mulch in autumn, cut back dead foliage in late winter — are all most need.
